Daniel, now 30 years old, was born in Finglas and grew up in Glasnevin; both on Dublin’s Northside.
Living in Phibsborough these days, he owns and runs Bang Bang café with his sister Grace. Together, they’ve managed to build not only a business that’s been embraced by customers and critics alike, but also a unique physical space and a strong relationship with both their regulars and the local community outside their doors.
In this episode, Daniel charts the course his very interesting life; talking of the beginnings of his love for Bohemian’s Football Club, his experiences of school and college, and his numerous jobs since then, including a stint in pharmaceutical sales, a year in an adventure tours company, and, following a Masters course that he really loved, a period of living in New York and working for Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs. In between, he also spent 5 months travelling with his friend in an old Land Rover to Mongolia and back!
Daniel will not only draw you in with his humour and collection of interesting stories, but I’m sure he’ll give you lots of food for thought on how you view – and pursue – happiness in your life.
